Recovery After Dermal Filler Treatment
While most patients resume regular activities right after their dermal filler treatment, it is important to stay away from intense physical exercise for up to 48 hours to minimize bruising and swelling. Some patients may have an “overfilled” appearance initially, but this should subside in a few days. Ice and massaging the area can improve most side effects within a few hours or days of the treatment. What to Expect During Treatment

First, you and Dr. Snyder will identify the specific areas of your face that need correction. She may make several markings on the skin to guide her during treatment and then cleanse the injection site(s).
Using a thin needle, Dr. Snyder will inject small amounts of the filler just underneath the surface of your skin. She may gently massage it to achieve the desired results. Additional filler is administered as needed. The amount of filler required and the total treatment time depend on the severity of the wrinkles, creases or depressions.
After the injections, you can apply an ice pack to the treated areas to reduce swelling and discomfort. The results should appear fairly quickly and will last for six to nine months or more, depending on the particular product used.
